Substance Abuse Counseling

Drugs, Alcohol, Food, Sex, Pornography, Anger.... Any and all of these issues can turn into mood & life threatening addictions. People turn to addictions as a means to resolve pain. The nature of substances that become addictive is to provide momentary pleasure. The problem with seeking a substance or an emotion to produce a desired release from pain is that substances leave the body and emotions change as rapidly as our thoughts. We are then left with ourselves. We either seek the release again through the substance or emotional release or seek the principles we are losing too and learn to win.

Therapy provides a resource for you to create your blueprint for a behavior change. A Southern Utah Counseling Experience and your Experience Team Leader will be your advocate for all good behaviors. The Experience Team will support you in defining your purpose and subsequent goals for success. The Experience Team will hold you accountable for every issue/behavior you engage in that wastes your time toward your main purpose. The Experience Team will always be available for you. We will answer questions and give direct feed back. The Experience Team will always tell you the truth and will never play therapy games with you and your issues. The Experience Team is ready and willing to start working with you.

A Southern Utah Counseling Experience offers a wide variety of Group and Psycho-educational Classes. All of our classes are aimed at assisting men and women with court mandated group experiences and educational class work.

Participants will be evaluated for their specific needs based upon client report or court order. The evaluation will define for the Clinical Team and the client what is going to be ordered to assist the client in the result desired.

The following classes and groups are currently being offered in English and en Espanol:

Intensive Outpatient Substance Abuse Therapy and Group

• 9 Hours per week of counseling.
• Meets the criteria for all IOP needs.

Domestic Violence Men’s Group - $45.00 per 2 hour group

D.U.I. Education Schedule (Courses Include 16 hours of Educatio0n in a nine day period.)
You must register prior to attending class. Classes are held every Saturday and Tuesday and are consecutive meaning you must take these classes in order.
3 Sessions for a total of 16 hours

*DUI Evaluations are also given within this office through A Southern Utah Counseling Experience.
